8 February 2005 edition of Spanish magazine SOLOMOTO stacks the K1200S against the R1. Some of the results from their tests:

Acceleration 100m: K1200=4,3 seconds, R1=4.7 seconds
Acceleration 400m: K1200=9.9 s, R1=10.2 s
Acceleration 1000m: K1200=18.7 s, R1= 18.5 s
Acceleration 0-100km/h: K1200=2.7 s, R1=2.9 s
Acceleration 0-150 km/h: K1200=4.2 s R1=4.8 s

Stopping distance from 80 km/h: K1200=17.8m, R1=21m

Weaving through 10 cones spread 4m apart: K1200=8.2s, R1=8.01s

Needless to say a very favourable comparison. The word "surprised" appears quite a few times.

Ora mi domando, la K1200R ha il rapporto finale un pelino più corto........
