Per completezza di informazione,
mi sembra doveroso linkare questa pagina AraiUK:
http://www.whyarai.co.uk/sharp.php
ed in particolare questo passaggio:
Please do also keep in mind that the final Sharp testing standards are still under development and in its current procedure pre-mature. The Department of Transport already announced that further testing procedures are under development.
Ognuno poi potrà trarre le proprie considerazioni,
e magari postarle qui.
Bye

Company Statement Schuberth GmbH concerning SHARP testing
Schuberth has always supported and motivated new initiatives to improve the safety in general and the headprotection in particular of motorcyclists, as well as other helmetusers (Firefigthers, police men, soldiers etc..).
In matters of safety and standards it is very important that the communication is clear and transparent for all parties. Unfortunately, we noticed that in case of the new SHARP tests, there are many things very unclear and many items are open for interpretation such as the way the test results are presented…nor it is not clear when or how you get 3, 4 or 5 stars, and so on…. .
As a matter of fact, SHARP is testing the helmets in a different way compared to the agreed and confirmed ECE 22-05 standard which has been approved and agreed by the industry, the medical world and by the EU committee for safety. E.g. SHARP applies different speeds, whereas ECE 22-05 requests one speed at which the shell is tested and the measuring method and process in general are very different from the ECE tests. Even the test equipment that SHARP uses, varies fundamentally from the ECE equipment as it was agreed by all manufacturers and the EU committee.
Moreover, it is not proven, nor confirmed that the SHARP way of testing is better, more conform the reality or whatever …So, it is NOT correct to say that the results of SHARP mean automatically that these helmets are better (or worse) than ECE approved helmets.
We nevertheless find that some tests conducted by SHARP are interesting such as the oblique test and tests at different speeds.
However, vital safety parts of a helmet such as the visor, the chinstrap and the buckle are NOT tested by SHARP, also the shock absorption of the chin part is NOT tested by SHARP whereas this is a new and important test area in the ECE 22-05 because the Cost 327 (which analyses crashes with motorcyclists) has shown that 24% of the motorcyclists hit with the front part of their helmet obstacles in a crash!
All these important and relevant tests are even not taken in account in the final judgment of SHARP and only impact absorptions are considered. As a consequence, this means that e.g. big helmets, with a lot of EPS will have good SHARP test results, but this clearly is not sufficient enough to declare that this helmet is safer or better than the other ones because other vital parts were not taken in consideration nor tested…and leads to major confusions and mis interpretations.
This could mean also that some helmets with a very good ECE result could perform very different in the SHARP tests and get a very different (minor or better) result compared to the once according the official ECE Norm.
Schuberth follows the ECE 22-05 standard as this was developed and based on decades of experience and relevant analyses of crashes and it is also the only agreed and confirmed European standard with the other helmet manufactures, the EU committee for safety and the medical researchers.
The arrival of the SHARP testing has only lead to confusions, misunderstandings lead by wrong judgments and faulty interpretations of ‘what is or what means safe?’. This new, but limited way of testing has never been agreed, nor been approved by any helmet producer nor by any medical institute. And as long as SHARP is not confirmed or approved, we do not like to refer to the SHARP tests.
Our SCHUBERTH helmets have been tested many times by different independent magazines in whole Europe the last decades according the only and official ECE 22-05 standards and they performed very well and achieved very good test results, not to say excellent notes for safety and comfort.

Sti test Sharp a me sembrano come le valutazioni Gambero Rosso, paghi e ti metto 5 stellette!
