Risposta della Bmw Motorrad UK
"We have received confirmation that Motorrad UK have released somewhere in the region of 6,000 letters to current BMW Motorrad owners for any outstanding recalls and quality enhancements. This is part of a "mop up" programme which Motorrad ran this year to clear any outstanding work on owners vehicles, which to date have not been completed.
The letters that have been issued do quote a recall outstanding on the vehicle, and apologies for the wording, but this may also refer to a quality enhancement on the model to rectify some of the earlier issues that our customer base and factory have highlighted.
The official statement from Motorrad UK is that if any Motorrad owners have received a letter of this nature, they should contact their nearest approved Motorrad dealer with their frame number or registration. The dealer has the facility to research outstanding recalls and quality enhancements using these details. The dealer should then arrange a mutually agreeable time to bring the bike in for the work to be carried out.
We have spoken at length regarding the fact that many owners will want to know what work is being carried out on their bike. The dealer should be able to provide this information to the owner as the work is carried out if they are asked. As discussed in our telephone conversation we do not want owners to believe that there is a "cloak and dagger" motive to any information being withheld. If there are any instances where this is occurring, we would like to be kept informed in case there is a training issue that needs to be highlighted.
Once again please accept our apologies for the delayed response and we hope the information we have provided will be of use. We are pleased to hear that you are enjoying your F800S and hope that the arrival of any recall letters have not detracted the fun of ownership from users of the forum.
Yours sincerely
BMW Group UK
