Team Suzuki Alstare Brux rider Max Neukirchner has returned home from the San Gerardo hospital in Monza and started the road to recovery. Max was in the hospital for two and a half days, but was discharged on Thursday and allowed to go home.

As he was not allowed to fly, Max was driven home in his campervan, where he was able to stretch out and enjoy a relatively comfortable trip back to Germany.
In Germany, Max will be looked after by Doctor Manfred Kupfer in Chemnitz and his condition reassessed. After staying in the clinic in Chemnitz for a few days, a more accurate prognosis will be available as to the date of Max’s return to action. Dr Kupfer has already seen all of Max’s X-rays and believes all the operations were successfully carried out. Max’s thigh is stabilised by a pin, but the double fracture of the fibula will be allowed to heal on their own. The biggest problem is likely to be in Max’s right foot, where the fractures were fixed by wires.
