I guess I was lucky when mine failed on my 07 GSA at 2500 miles. I was home and trailered it into the dealer. The part was available to order, but it still took 3 weeks to get the bike back. I was told there is no way to bypass the EWS. BMW is so sure about its EWS system that it uses one way bolts to secure it. They had to drill them out to replace the ring antenna. I told BMW that this is a stupid POS system to have on an enduro bike in the first place. They agreed.
My dealer acted as if they never heard of this failure. With 121 of them now on backorder and none left in the USA they can't say that crap anymore.
