predefinito GIUSTO PER ESSERE SICURI CHE "BMW" LEGGA!!!!!

"I know that you are close to the management of BMW in Berlin so I am hoping that you can help me. I have just purchased a new R1200 GS and, while I don't want to sound like I am whining and complaining, I have some issues with the "Ultimate Riding Machine"

Now, you should know that I have a number of performance bikes and other vehicles, hence I am not new to motorcycles.

Whats up with this directional stability thing? My D9 Caterpillar Track Driven Front End Loader (GVW of 59,000 pounds) has significantly more stability in cross winds than the my new GS. Believe me, I have driven both in such conditions and there is no comparison.

OK, now why does the damn thing have a hydraulic clutch. When I crash in desert on my KTM 640 Enduro and break a clutch cable it is always fun to go looking for tree roots or vines that I can wrap with a shoestring to create a makeshift clutch cable. What's the deal here anyway, fluid, no cable?

Allright, I used to spend many a weeknight and weekend taking carburettors apart, altering needle height, playing with main jets and pilot jets to get just the right jetting for 3,500 to 5,000 feet above sea level. I'm an expert in rebuilding carbs, cleaning floatbowls, replacing dried out fiber washers and gaskets. So what am I supposed to do, just ride the damn thing? That's no fun! I want to work on it constantly, kind of like the British do with their cars and motorcycles. This was a cathartic experience for me, and now it is gone! I'm pissed!

And the chain, where the hell is the chain? What am I supposed to do with my chain breaker, my extra links of chain, my chain lube. What moron at BMW thought up shaft drive? And, I had become an expert at removing dried chain wax (overspray) from my garage floor. No more!

I'm really pissed about the anti-freeze. Where do you put it? I can't find a single reference in my owners manual. I'm guessing its a German thing, you know, quiet and stoic. Well, unless I hear otherwise, I will continue to add it to the gas.

Turn-in. What were they thinking? On my Harley Road King I lean that puppy to the right and whammo, within a quarter of a mile she begins to move right. Now, that's what I call turn-in! I did this on the GS the other day and the damn thing moved right, right now! What do these krazy Krauts want me to do, krash?

Braking on the GS is absolutely lousy compared to my nitro-burning drag boat. In the boat, at the end of the quarter when I'm off the gas and deploy the three drag chutes, she stops real quick. That damn GS is nowhere near as good.

Servos, who needs them. I have this continuing nightmare that the GS knows I don't like it, and scoots me forward on the seat where the servos grab my testicles and feed them into the calipers. Scawy, weally scawy!

Finally, I am totally confuesd with the GS's brake lever feel. I am used to those high performance spongy rubber brake lines where you get that really good squishy lever feel whenever you apply the brakes. I'm not a stoppin unless I get four inches of mushy brake lever travel! If I wanted right now solid feel at the lever I would have gotten a bicycle.

Other than these few issues I do like my GS but, as you can tell, I am deeply conflicted and confused.
