Regarding your question:
For used chain sets (up to 10.000 km), cleaning is done with PDL® Base Treatment – conveniently while riding! Dirt and old grease under the rollers can only be removed by moving them – PDL Base Treatment is the patented cleaner for this! APPLICATION: Spray the chain generously and wipe off surface dirt. Begin the cleaning journey of approximately 150 km. The movement of the chain rollers pushes the dirt encrustations out of the lubrication gaps. Now new lubricant can get there again. When using PDL® Dry Lube, these dirt deposits will never appear again!
How often do I need to reapply PDL®?
As a guideline, the recommended respray interval is approximately 400 to 600 km (see label).
Many of our regular customers – including ourselves – spray a few grams of PDL® on their chain after a long ride or a day trip. This keeps it in top condition, is always ready to ride, and (if it has rained) prevents surface rust.
Yes, Profi Dry Lube must be reapplied after a rainy ride. This is also required with any other chain spray.
The grease on a new chain comes from the production process and has no adhesives. Here, you can apply PDL® Base Treatment once after approximately 500-600 km to remove this grease from the chain.
Afterwards PDL® Dry Lube can be used.
