Garmin (BMW Nav VI) and USB 3.0 non si "parlano"
 

Ciao a tutti,
ho cercato se c'era giá qualcosa a riguardo sul forum ma non ho trovato nulla. Eventualmente mi scuso in anticipo se apro un duplicato.

Il problema :mad: :
Ho un BMW Navogator VI (Garmin) e non viene riconosciuto dal mio laptop quando lo collego attraverso il cavetto in dotazione, vedo soltanto il simbolo della ricarica sul nav.
Il laptop e' DELL XPS con Win 10.

Ho cercato in vari forum e penso di aver circoscritto il problema a:
- Garmin e USB 3.0 non vanno d'accordo - Il problema e' che sul mio laptop ho solo due prese USB 3.0
- Windows 10 e Garmin/ANT devices a volte non si parlano


Qualcuno ha avuto lo stesso problema?
Se si e se siete riusciti a risolverlo... come avete fatto?

Ho trovato la soluzione e la posto.
Scusate se la metto in inglese ma copio-incollo il messaggio che ho anche postato sul forum Garmin ed ora vado di fretta! :)

I found the fix for the issue.


Root cause
In my case the issue was the compatibility of the Garmin device with the USB*3.0*ports of my laptop.
I am not sure if the issue is with*all*USB*3.0*ports in any computer or only with some specific USB 3.0 controllers / drivers*

How I fixed it
- I bought a USB*2.0*port hub. (https://www.trust.com/it/product/205...rt-usb-2-0-hub)
- I connected the USB 2.0 port hub to the laptop
- I connected the BMW Nav VI to the USB*2.0*port hub
Like this:
NAV VI ---> USB*2.0*port hub --> USB*3.0*Laptop USB port*

- Finally the laptop could recognise the navigator and I could work on it as normal with Garmin Express and make registration, updates, etc...
