The StreetPilot 2720 is a premium GPS automotive navigator that offers text-to-speech and traffic interface capabilities.
In addition to the turn-by-turn voice prompted navigation available in earlier StreetPilot models, the 2720’s text-to-speech functionality allows the unit to audibly announce the name of upcoming streets and POIs, letting drivers keep their eyes on the road while navigating through busy traffic and tricky roadways.
For drivers in congested metropolitan areas, Garmin is offering the GTM 10, an optional FM RDS-TMC traffic receiver that receives digital information (where available) on traffic, road construction, and weather-related tie-ups. The GTM10 receives data from selected FM broadcast stations in select cities throughout the United States and Europe. This optional feature lets drivers see congested areas via a color-coded map. When connected to the GTM 10, the StreetPilot 2720 uses this data to automatically calculate and suggest alterntive routes based on the traffic information.
The StreetPilot 2720 also boasts a new WQVGA, color, automotive-grade, sunlight-readable, touchscreen display that automatically adjusts the unit’s backlight for optimum viewing in any amount of light. Drivers can view the map in a three-dimensional perspective, or a top-down track-up or north-up view.
The StreetPilot 2720 comes preprogrammed with City Navigator™ North America v7 NT maps—containing detailed road maps throughout the entire United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. This map database features nearly six million points of interest—including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs, and attractions.
Garmin has also added the ability for customers to augment the pre-loaded maps with custom POI’s from industry-standard CSV files, such as school zones and safety cameras. In addition, a proximity-alert feature is included to optionally warn the driver of upcoming custom POI’s.
In addition to point-to-point navigation, the StreetPilot 2720 can calculate the most efficient route between multiple destinations—a real time-saver for realtors, sales forces, and errand-runners. Drivers can also tell the unit to avoid specific areas or road segments when calculating a route.

Il Quest 2 ha precaricate le mappe ma non si capisce quanta memoria ha in più rispetto al Quest.

Anch'io, spulciando tra le caratteristiche, non sono riuscito a notare nulla di rilevante ... avevo letto da qualche parte che la versione USA del Quest aveva solo 128 MB RAM e quindi può darsi che i 256 attuali per loro rappresentano un Upgrade.
Poi c'è questo Dashboard disk, che non sa cosa sia.
Ad ogni modo, dovranno inventarsi qualcos'altro per vendermi un altro GPS. Mentre TomTom si muove, Garmin continua a dormire ...

Il Quest2 però costa 300 dollari in più, non credo siano dovuti solo ai 140MB aggiuntivi.

ci vorrebbe un 276C con le memorie commerciali, da un GB, e con il touch screen, poi tutti gli altri potrebbero anche levarli.

condivido 100% lo schermo del 276 non si batte si vede meglio addirittura in controluce. Altro che quest, lo schermo grande ti permette di vedere le informazioni a colpo d'occhio questa è la mia modestissima opinione, sicuramente opinabile, ma tutta mia e me la tengo

il 60CS ha il monitor la metà del 276c ma stessa qualità video...
provato ieri... in galleria... di notte... contro sole... si vedeva sempre... che ficata!!!
comunque se il 276C avesse le compact flash gli altri GPS si potrebbero evitare di produrre... è il più potente... il più veloce... il più versatile... con lo schermo più grosso...
ma forse garmin ha fatto apposta sennò chi se li comprava i 2610-20-50-70 ECC. ;)

condivido 100%, sono contento che il 60cs abbia la stessa qualità video, comunque da qualche parte se non ricordo male vidi delle cartucce commerciali formato garmin domani vedo di rintracciare il sito

le novità americane differiranno dalle europee. quindi non prendete tutto quello che si legge per definitivo.
la serie 27 degli SP ed il C340 avranno, ora mi sfugge il nome esatto, una specie di Infotraffic, ovvero il TMC dei navigatori automobilistici: saranno in grado di ricevere il segnale di coda o incidente e quindi proporre un percorso alternativo.
probabili novità sulla memoria del quest2... in ogni caso verranno presentati in Italia non prima di settembre inoltrato: ora vanno tutti in vacanza.
sinceramente se il mio 2610 avesse la visione 3d sarebbe il meglio per me........

il 3d vorrebbe dire togliere velocità di ricalcolo...
i 27xx saranno anche nautici, ovvero con la possibiltà di caricare le blue chart
il Quest 2 sarà in realtà una figata... piccolo, con batteria... e 2 giga di memoria!

Vabbè, così è la vita!!! Non si smette mai di spendere soldi!!!
A mio parere il Quest 2 ha in più la possibilità di caricare le mappe altimetriche quindi utile solo a chi fa trekking mentre le altre caratteristiche rimangono invariate...
