Next year the BMW Motorrad PowerCup will stir up the action on the European racetracks. Top-flight riders will do battle "fair but fast" on their K 1200 R bikes pumping out over 160 horsepower. This will make the brand new BMW Motorrad brand cup the spectacular highlight in the accompanying program on 7 MotoGP race weekends next season.
The dates have already been fixed:
14. May, Le Mans (F) - TBC
4. June, Mugello (I)
25. June, Assen (NL)
24. July, Donington Park (GB)
30. July, Sachsenring (D)
28. August, Brno (CZ)
6. November, Valencia (E)

The race vehicle, based on the K 1200 R, is modified according to the FIM rules established for motorcycle road racing. The following modifications and parts are included in the purchase price:
BMW K 1200 R.
Sport suspension.
Excluding lights and indicators.
Excluding mirrors and licence plate holder.
Wind shield (carbon).
Two sets of additional spare wheels and another extra rear wheel.
Assembly stands front and rear and two side stands.
Hand guards.
Replacement of front fender by carbon part.
Replacement of air intakes by carbon parts.
Replacement of radiator covers by carbon parts.
Replacement of rear frame covers by one piece carbon part including
rear seat cover.
Mounting of engine cover.
Excluding passenger foot pegs.
Replacement of rider foot pegs by variable parts.
Automatic gear shift.
Replacement of speedometer by 2D laptimer incl. shift flash.
Replacement of muffler.
Crash pads.
